We usually celebrate movies in theaters with a whole bunch of audiences. Most commercial movies were made for these experiences. We usually experience movies in the theater in these ways. Would you ever experience the movie alone in the theater?? Would you ever go to the theater alone??
Watching a movie is a very personal experience. Just let me explain why?? We all may have that one movie we only liked apart from our friends. That movie didn't even go well when it's released. This is because we felt some kind of personal connection. Personal connection means some kind of bonding to the movie. For example, if you had a breakup, you would actually feel better about the scene or lyrics of the breakup than before. This kind of thing makes the movie more engaging and interesting to us. We will give a chance to the movie that makes us more engaging by watching it alone or watching with a person who has a more personal connection to us.

Actually watching a movie alone makes us know more about the movie and we will also know the details or even the layers of the scenes/story. Nobody wants to spend their time meaningless. We want the movie at least to entertain. Watching a movie alone will not only entertain. That will even make you know how you experienced the movie instead of your opinion over the things you watch.

If you still didn't believe that, Just try to rewatch a movie alone. That will make you see the movie in more depth and detail.
Some movies are actually made for you to watch alone. While watching alone, initially you slept after 10 minutes of the movie. But these movies actually make you think rather than being entertained. Thinking over the things you watch that actually make you know more about the things in life. These movies are usually called art movies.
